Latter Glory Daycare in Umlazi, founded by Ntombfuthi Queen Dubazana, has grown to 120 children and six teachers over 10 years. However, outdated processes like physical records and in-person registration cause inefficiencies and communication challenges. Adopting technology could streamline operations and improve the parent experience.
The daycare lacks an online presence, making it difficult for parents to access information, register remotely, or communicate effectively. Manual documentation is inefficient and hard to manage as enrollment grows. Additionally, reliance on word-of-mouth limits the daycare’s potential to attract more families through online advertising, especially among its millennial and Gen Z target audience in Umlazi.
After discussing some requirements and needs with the daycare manager, this phase ensured a clear understanding of the system's design, helping to align development with user needs and project goals. It helped bridge the gap between conceptual ideas and technical implementation, providing a visual blueprint for development.
